2017 Updates for Plymouth Joint School District!

I would like to highlight some newer features of  Notebook Software version 17 as well as let you know about some software changes.

Due to some very large increases in cost for Notebook software, it will only be loaded on your classroom SMARTBoard computer this year.  If you have any concerns about only having availability to create/alter lessons on your SMARTBoard computer, please talk to our tech office (ext. 1016).

New with the Notebook 17 SMART Learning Suite Online allows teachers to share their lessons to any student device.   Here is a link that can help you get started!

Remember, you can always export your lessons in PDF form to print out for notes.  Our Notebook software is now part of SMART Learning Suite.  Lesson creating in Notebook software is primarily the same.

NOTEBOOK SOFTWARE:
  • Don't forget SMART Exchange is a great place to find already created lessons that you can adapt to make your own.
  • There is a new SMART Notebook Player app that allows you to move around the classroom while maintaining control of your Notebook lesson on the SMART Board.   Give it a try!
  • Geogebra is now part of Notebook and provides great math tools for all grades.
  • Notebook Recorder is awesome for recording lessons when you will be absent or for students to watch in a flipped classroom.
  • You can now search YouTube directly within Notebook by opening the add-on.
  • You can easily import Word or Powerpoint documents into Notebook.
  • Random name/group generator is an awesome Gallery Essential item that can be used for creating groups as well as choosing "volunteers" from your class list.

SMART LAB:
  • Here's a simple video you can watch to see how SMART Lab can help you quickly build game based activities that will engage students.
  • SMART Response is part of the LAB and offers great formative assessment capabilities that will help guide your instruction.  Students use their own devices.  Here's a simple video to help get you started!
  • Shout it Out is part of the LAB and can be useful for brainstorming or collaborating together.  Students use their own devices to input answers.  Here's a link to help you get started!

SMART AMP:

  • SMART AMP is a collaborative workspace where you and your students can work together in a shared space.   A Google Aps for Education account is required.   Talk to the tech office if you need an account.  Here's a link to get you started collaborating on student devices!

As always, if there are any questions you have I would be happy to try to answer them!   SMARTtech also has a great support site, if you want to try them instead.
